Home Depot – North Hill, Calgary

The 8,850 m2 Home Depot store was completed in April 2005 and was the first store in the chain to achieve a LEED® certification.  Based on Home Depot design standards the store HVAC system utilized multiple large heat/cool rooftop units.  In addition, due to land size constraints, a large underground parkade was provided which included a glycol snow melt system on the entry ramp.  With these constraints careful attention was paid to the design of the mechanical systems to achieve energy savings to meet the LEED® minimum energy performance requirements.
